HIKE TO PEDRA DA GAVEA WITH SAFETY EQUIPMENT, GUIDE AND PHOTOS INCLUDED
Between steep walks, rocks, roots and a simple climb up Carrasqueira at more than 700 meters high, we will reach the top of Pedra da Gavea, the largest seaside monolith in the world. It is 842 meters above sea level which makes us higher than Christ the Redeemer, also in the Tijuca National Park.
Our guides are the current ascent record holders with over 613 in the last 4 years and the best local photographers and content creators.
At the top of Pedra da Gávea we can appreciate Barra da Tijuca, Praia de São Conrado, Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, Ipanema, Morro Dois Irmãos and Pedra da Bonita ( Paragliding and Hang Gliding jump - we have indications of the best pilots).
Considered the most challenging trail in Rio de Janeiro, Pedra da Gávea has its charms and legends about the Phoenicians.
Arriving at the summit, we rest, eat something, hydrate and start the most awaited moment: the photo session. Haha If you're not too tired, we can visit more parts.

What is included?

Meeting point:
GPS/Uber: Estrada Sorimã, 936 - Barra da Tijuca - Rio de Janeiro.
At the entrance (guard house) of the National Park (on the Pedra da Gávea Trail) at 7:45 am. The park opens at 8 am and closes at 5 pm.
There is free parking for those arriving by car. We recommend arriving early if it's a weekend.
Difficulty level:
Hard but not impossible. Almost! haha
Indicated for those who are experienced in trails or do physical activity and have good physical conditioning. If this is your first hike or if you are not physically fit, we suggest Pedra do Telegrafo (sunrise), Morro Dois Irmãos sunrise (with rappelling) or Pedra Bonita (with a drone, it’s amazing).
Be aware that you could harm the performance of the group if you are sedentary and have no experience with trails.
Opt for a private tour if possible.
Total length: 8 km.
Duration: 9 hours approximately.
Between 8am and 5pm /depends on you (this is the park's opening hours).
There are about 3 hours of steep UP and 2h30min of DOWN. The time can be longer or shorter according to the walk of each of you and the delay in the parts with rope (rappelling in Carrasqueira).
What to bring: all individual
- Sunscreen (only apply on top, not at home. As the trail will be in the shadow)
- Light and comfortable clothes / avoid cotton shirt (like going to the gym)
- Hiking boots or sneakers or with the best sole possible (never all star or similar models)
- 1 large backpack (30 liters) that fits your stuff and 1 car seat (safety equipment/belt – weight 500gr)
- 1.5 liters of water per person (minimum – or you will run out of water)
- 500 ml of frozen water (if it's sunny)
- 1 isotonic (eg Gatorade)... Never energetic (red bull)
- 2 sandwiches
- 2 fruits
- 1 extra shirt to look good in the photos (believe me, you will need it/optional). LOL
- 1 cereal bar
Everyone must MUST be wearing shoes for greater comfort and safety. It is not possible to walk barefoot or in slippers. Being canceled with no monetary return.

IN CASE OF RAIN:
In case of rain on the day of the experience, the trail will be replaced by Morro Dois Irmãos or Pedra Bonita as soon as the rain stops. It will only be rescheduled at no additional cost if negotiated up to 2 days prior to the day of the tour. If the customer decides to cancel the day before or on the day of the experience, the cancellation fee described on our website and in the booking form will be respected. We would like you to understand that the guides do not accept another job because they have already booked their day with us/with you.
The amount can also be used as a credit for up to 1 year.
REFUNDS IN CASE OF CANCELLATION:

05 days prior to the tour - 50% of the amount deposited
